![]() Title: "Deepsea Sub" Deion & Commentary:One of his passions is the sea. During the summer in his high school years, Deepsees attended marine science courses at Farileigh Dickenson U., which also involved deep sea exploration exposure. One of the great things about 3d modeling is; one can build something that just might work, without a trip to the hardware store or endangering anyone. From the mind, through the computer, and back to the eyes. In this model he built a complete sub, with controls inside the bubble and a pilot (named Al Betters). The sharks and fish are generic shapes designed for originality sake. After months of work, the model was lost in a system crash. | ![]() Title: "Dragonfly" Deion & Commentary:This model represents a maturing of Deepsees' modeling skills. Gossamer wings have always fascinated him in their delicateness and strength. They are God's art and engineering. Modeling natural shapes is always a challenge and is rewarding. 3D is not just getting the shape right but the color, the type of surface (chrome, gossamer, cardboard, water, etc.) and the correct lighting. It is as if there is a complete animation studio, in one program with cameras. The background was simply created to portray something other then a white nothing, and to add to the sense of height. Artist Comment: 3-D Modeling & Animation "Some people in the art world believe that computer generated art, is not art. Perhaps the cave men thought the same thing when oil paint showed up. To me, the computer is just an electronic paint brush." |
