I have been chatting on 40plus for about five years now -- from old Q'Deck using globalchat. Back then, I was still married to "The Toad" and having problems at home. Around that same time, I had bought another house and moved closer to work while still maintaining my house with the Toad ensconced therein!!!! I was separated at that point and I had fun for a while meeting new people - some OK and a couple of junior toads!! Sometime in the winter of 97-98 before Christmas, a person named Nick (real name Bob) came into 40plus (he had been there before in quarterdeck). He didn't stay long, as I was talking French to Jean and Jules and a couple of other people - Bob and I got into a little disagreemment and he exercised his right to EXIT -LOL. This was some time after he had separated from his then wife. Over the next few months, we talked a lot, as I was not working due to my accident, and eventually we met on April 17th in Middleton NY - halfway between my home and his. I would not go to Pennsylvania and didn't want him to come to Connecticut. I knew he was OK to meet, as Cindi had met him already, and he knew that I wasn't a vampire, as I had met people that he knew. Amazingly we fell in love at first meeting, although I didn't trust that to last forever at the time, but it grew stronger and stronger. During the next year or so, we commuted back and forth between PA and CT in between my surgeries. I knew that Bob was a keeper by the way he took care of me after surgery when I was quite crabby!!!! He taught me patience. We decided to move back into one of my houses as soon as my divorce went through (after the Toad was sober long enough to know what was happening!!) In August 2000 we were finally both free to marry and we married in Bob's church on the 31st, with family and friends around us. I am still stunned at the way this all happened as I would have said that Bob was not my type before I met him, whereas we seem like we have always been together and even our families love each other. Ours is only one of several marriages and romances that started in 40plus and I am grateful that I chatted there. Make allowances for other people's differences and it's amazing what close friends or lovers you may meet. Thank you all for being friends at times in the past when I really needed friends. TrueLiza :)
