Buffalo Bill's, Las Vegas, Nevada
We came from all over the world for this meet and there was so many of us, that we were split over a few hotels. Some stayed at the MGM Grand and Sahara on the strip, but the majority stayed out of town at Buffalo Bill's. This was an awesome place, complete with it's own rodeo arena, buffalo-shaped swimming pool, movie theatre and of course, the famous Desperado Roller Coaster.
Inside...well it was a step back in time to those gold rushing, cowboy days, and there were plenty of cowboys there that week!!

It used to be the highest roller coaster in the world until a newer one was built in Japan. Now, it's just the highest coaster in North America. A high-speed dive down a 55-degree hill into a tunnel kicks off the ride followed by a 155-foot second hill. That's higher than most other coasters' first drop. From the top of the first hill, a tunnel burrowing into the desert looks like an anthill. By the time the Desperado rams through it, the train is careening at about 80 mph. The camel-back hills leading to the front of the property provide riders with plenty of "air time," the thrilling zero-gravity sensation of getting tossed from the car. The ride wraps up with high-speed upward spiral through a man-made mountain. .
